Garth Brooks Benefit Concerts

Garth Brooks Concert Tickets

From the moment he hit the stage, serving up the one-two punch of “Rodeo” and “Papa Loved Mama,” Brooks made it clear he was there to give fans everything they’d been missing since he retired from touring to raise his three daughters.

After performing “The Beaches of Cheyenne” to thunderous applause, Brooks told the audience “I have missed you guys so much!” at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN. He will be playing 5 more times and you can still catch him for his last two days.

Proceeds from all nine shows are going to Nashville’s flood relief efforts and Brooks expressed his appreciation for attendees coming out to support the worthy cause. “You have done your job and done it very well,” he said. “Now it’s our turn.”

Brooks welcomed to the stage his Grammy-winning wife Trisha Yearwood. Looking sleek in jeans and a black sweater with sheer sleeves, Yearwood joined Brooks on their hit duet “In Another’s Eyes” as the crowd cheered. “I love you and I love our life at home, but we’ve got to get ourselves one of these,” he said gesturing toward the audience with a big smile. Yearwood sounded amazing as she performed her debut hit, the 1991 No. 1 single “She’s in Love with the Boy” and the crowd enthusiastically sang along. She then backed Brooks as he performed the chart-topping “More Than A Memory.”

He took his bows and exited the stage, but reappeared to encore with a blistering version of “Ain’t Goin’ Down (Til the Sun Comes Up).” He left the stage at 9:20 leaving the Bridgestone crew less than an hour to usher the sold out crowd from the building and let in the audience for his second show at 10pm.

His next concerts at the venue are sure to be just as big hits as the first couple.

Gwar is on Tour This Summer! Who?

Ok so you may have heard that this band that calls themselves Gwar and dress in strange costumes is on tour.

Gwar Concert

Yup, that’s them right there. Kinda freaky right? Well what if we told you that their acts usually consist of gory scenes that demean celebrities or politicians?

Abuse of George W. Bush character - live at Reds, Edmonton

Well ok then. Why do they do these things? Honestly I can’t tell you but the fans seem to love it.

Gwar themselves are a thrash metal/hardcore(/other heavy elements) band that hasn’t really settled on one true genre. Gwar was formed back in 1984 in Virginia. Dave Brockie, one of the founding members, was a vocalist for a hardcore punk band Death Piggy at the time. The band often staged mini-plays on stage to accentuate the lyrics of their songs. Death Piggy met Hunter Jackson (Techno Destructo) and Chuck Vargas (Sexecutioner) at the Richmond Dairy. A production space for Scumdogs of the Universe, a movie they intended to make had been christened “the Slave Pit” and would be the future production place for Gwar. Death Piggy would occasionally use the costumes that Jackson and Vargas had created for the movie on stage and call themselves “GWAARGGGH!!!” (you can see why they’s shortened it to Gwar). Eventually the two groups became one which is now known as Gwar.

Gwar went under many lineup changes in its early years and only became mostly solidified in the 1990′s. Gwar was temporarily banned in North Carolina because Brockie was wearing his “Cuttlefish of Cthulhu” prosthetic penis, which funnily enough led to his arrest and the inspiration for America Must Be Destroyed, their third album released in 1992.

Over the years Gwar had many performances targeting various people in history. Targets of Gwar’s humor have included O. J. Simpson, John Kerry, Mike Tyson, as well as every President since Ronald Reagan, Jerry Garcia, Osama Bin Laden, Michael Jackson, Steve Wilkos, Al Gore, John McCain, Hillary Clinton, Paris Hilton, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Adolf Hitler, Bernard Madoff, Jerry Springer and many others. The band also makes frequent references to political and historical figures, fantasy literature, and mythology. For instance, the song “Whargoul” makes reference to Minas Morgul as well as the eternal warrior of Michael Moorcock. The title of their fifth album Ragnarok comes from Norse mythology (and it looks like there may be some Norse influences in their costumes as well). They were nominated for two Grammys – nominated, but never won. One was for Best Metal Performance “S.F.W.” and one was for Best Long Form Music Video “Phallus in Wonderland”.

The following is a video from their most recent album:

So there you have it. A brief history of Gwar and what they are all about. If you want to see them live for yourself check out Gwar concert tickets online to see where they are playing.

Justin Bieber Gets Hit With Water Bottle

So I know this has been posted all over the internet already but I just had to share it. Here is a good video of Justin Bieber getting hit in the head with a water bottle.

My question is he says “I don’t why she just threw that” so did he see who threw it? I wonder if that person was caught. Well props to them anyway.
